
Gwilym Lee
Gwilym Lee is best known for his portrayal of Brian May in the Oscar-, BAFTA- and multi-award-winning global hit BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY opposite Rami Malek. He is also widely recognised for his role as Grigor in the acclaimed Hulu series THE GREAT alongside Nicholas Hoult and Elle Fanning, written by Tony McNamara. Most recently, he led the second season of SAS: ROGUE HEROES, Steven Knight’s critically acclaimed WWII drama for the BBC.
His film credits also include HERE, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, as well as the independent feature TOP END WEDDING, directed by Wayne Blair, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival before later being adapted into an Amazon series. Gwilym will next appear in THE SIEGE, directed by Lewis Arnold, and THE NIGHTINGALE, directed by Michael Morris.
Alongside his screen work, Gwilym has built a distinguished stage career. Most recently, he received critical acclaim for portraying Gareth Southgate in DEAR ENGLAND at the National Theatre. He also earned outstanding reviews for his leading role in VERSAILLES at the Donmar Warehouse. Earlier in his career, he won the Ian Charleson Awards for his performance as Edgar in KING LEAR opposite Derek Jacobi, and later received a second nomination for his performance in OEDIPUS at the National Theatre.
