Paterson Joseph trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He’s worked extensively on screen, television and in the theatre. Paterson is currently filming TOMB RAIDER for Amazon alongside Sophie Turner, and can currently be seen in THEY WILL KILL YOU, alongside Patricia Arquette and Zazie Beetz. Paterson has recently wrapped on the feature film THE ROOTS MANOEUVRE starring opposite Toni Collete and Jessica Henwick, and he could also be seen playing the iconic role of Arthur Slugworth in WONKA alongside Timothée Chalamet, as well as starring in the television series BOAT STORY and VIGIL, both for the BBC.
Paterson’s previous on screen credits include: THAT DIRTY BLACK BAG, THE MOSQUITO COAST, INSIDE NO.9, THE END OF THE F*ING WORLD**, NOUGHTS AND CROSSES, AVENUE 5, GRANTCHESTER, PEEP SHOW, GREEN WING, IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER and THE BEACH.
On stage, some of Paterson’s theatre credits include A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Old Vic), TROILUS AND CRESSIDA, THE LAST DAYS OF DON JUAN, KING LEAR (RSC); ELMINA’S KITCHEN, ST JOAN, EMPEROR JONESand THE ROYAL HUNT OF THE SUN (National Theatre).
As an established author Paterson’s works include SANCHO – AN ACT OF REMEMBRANCE (Play), JULIUS CAESAR AND ME (Non Fiction) and THE SECRET DIARIES OF CHARLES IGNATIUS SANCHO (Novel) and TEN: CHILDREN WHO CHANGED THE WORLD (historical biography).
