David Morrissey
David Morrissey is best known for his villainous portrayal of THE GOVERNOR in AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD. He is currently filming WOMAN IN CABIN 10 alongside Keira Knightley, and can most recently be seen in BBC’s DADDY ISSUES opposite Aimee Lou Wood, which has been recommissioned for a second season, and leading the second series of James Graham’s BBC drama SHERWOOD. David’s significant TV credits include the RED RIDING trilogy for Channel 4 alongside Andrew Garfield, STATE OF PLAY directed by David Yates, for which he was BAFTA nominated for Best Actor, and the second season of the critically acclaimed Starz/BBC One mystery THE MISSING. David can also be seen in the BBC’s THE CITY AND THE CITY, BRITANNIA for Amazon Studios, and in a season-long recurring arc on the second season of EXTANT for DreamWorks TV & CBS opposite Halle Berry.
David’s film credits include WELCOME TO THE PUNCH for director Eran Creevy, where he starred alongside James McAvoy and Mark Strong; NOWHERE BOY opposite Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson; CENTURION opposite Michael Fassbender, directed by Neil Marshall; and THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL opposite Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. On stage, David starred in the hugely successful run of THE HANGMEN at the Royal Court Theatre, as The Hangman “Harry Wade”, and he recently lead the cast in THE LOVER / THE COLLECTION at Theatre Royal Bath. David’s acclaimed series THE DRIVER, was recently developed for American Television by A&E Studios / AMC and will star Giancarlo Esposito, David will also serve as an executive producer.
